MALDON officers have been conducting speeds checks in key locations following concerns from residents.

On Wednesday July 16, Maldon Town Team officers were in Wickham Bishops after police received complaints from residents.

The checks are to encourage safe driving and to reduce the risk of accidents in communities.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said speeding was one of the main causes of serious collisions.

This means “by monitoring speeds and engaging with drivers” the force can protect pedestrians and cyclist, reduce the number of traffic incidents.

Essex Police is also residents to share their concerns about speeding as this can help “target the right locations”.
